Used as flavoring and coloring agent in many asian cuisines especially for curriesas well as for dyeing. Turmeric powder has a warm, bitter, black pepper like flavor and earthy, mustard like aroma. It have been used in natural and Ayurvedic medicine.
The plant require a well drainage sandy soil. It can be cultivated both at full sun or partial shade.
