General Plant Information: Yautia or Xanthosoma sagittifolium is a stemless tropical plant. Cultivated in the Caribbean for its tuberous edible starchy roots. They are cooked and eaten like yams or potatoes. Is a main ingredient to make the traditional Puerto Rican Alcapurrias and Pasteles.
The plant require a well drainage sandy soil. It can be cultivated both at full sun or partial shade.
